Casa Hogar San Jose
Colima, Mexico
The Mission of the Casa began as a place to care for children who had been abandoned, abused, orphaned or whose parents were too poor to care for them. It accepts children for any length of time – some stay for a few months, some for a lifetime.
The Casa is located on three acres of land in the city of Colima approximately two hours from Guadalajara, Mexico. The buildings of the Casa, all built by the children and volunteers, house about 100 children from the ages of 2 to 20.
Ms. Lupita, the Director of Casa Hogar San Jose is continuing the vision of Padre Welsmiller who, over 30 years ago, created a place where abandoned children of Colima could trust they had a home until they were ready to leave. He envisioned a home environment, not an institution. From the beginning, he realized that if the Casa were to succeed, it would need the support of volunteers.
The Casa depends on financial support. 100% of all contributions go directly to the Casa.
